Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested two businessmen at Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport, NAIA, Abuja, with consignment of cocaine and heroin going to Hong Kong and France concealed in their bellies. While 38-year-old ThankGod Chimamkpa Emenike was arrested at the boarding gate of the Abuja airport on Friday 20th October during the outward clearance of passengers on Air France flight 818 to Paris, another passenger, 41-year-old Agbo Chidike Prince a trader at the Alaba International market was taken into NDLEA custody on Saturday 21st October while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 950 to Hong Kong via Addis Ababa. They were both arrested and detained after their body scan revealed they ingested illicit drugs. After days in custody and a number of excretions, Emenike excreted 72 wraps of heroin weighing 1.171 kil

 19-YEAR-OLD KWARAPOLY STUDENT BAGS TWO YEARS IMPRISONMEṄT AFTER N21MILLION WAS FOUND IN HIS BANK ACCOUNT A 19-year-old undergraduate, Oyedotun Adebowale has been sentenced to two years in prison for cyber fråud, by a Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State.  Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission which prosecuted Adebowale on one count before Justice Muhammed Sani, told the court that N21m was found in the bank account of the Kwara State Polytechnic undergraduate. The EFCC said; “Investigations had earlier revealed that Oyedotun had under his possession over N21m suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities and a Toyota Camry, which he purchased using his mother’s name.”  Counsel for the EFCC, Sesan Ola, reviewed the facts of the case and tendered the extra-judicial statements of the defendant, iPhone 12 Promax, the key and particulars of a Toyota Camry recovered from him, and a draft of N350,000 which were admitted in evidence.   Adebowale w

  The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Sunday Asefon on Thursday suggested that the union is prepared to hit the streets to protest the strike embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities. Mr Asefon made the comment while speaking on Channels Television Sunrise Daily. According to Mr Asefon, the government appears not to be interested in ending the strike as focus shifts to elections in 2023.
